More natural products for you today. This time, mainly for the mouth. I made a mouthwash, two different toothpastes, and a little off subject, a facial skin toner.
Although I am all for being fully natural in what you eat and use on your body, I'll certainly admit I am not one to do it 100%. Toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner are three things I haven't found a good replacement for when it comes to the store bought, chemical filled stuff.

- First up: Mint Tooth Gel
This was fun to make, because I felt like I was really making toothpaste, instead of just mixing a couple things together. However, it didn't do much for my breath. It's a soft and very gentle gel that is wonderful for sensitive teeth (like my 2 year old's). Even with it's minty flavor, it certainly isn't strong enough to combat bad breath.
Step 1: In a heat-resistant bowl, pour 1/4 cup boiling water over 1 Tablespoon of chopped fresh mint leaves. Let steep until cool. Strain into small saucepan.
Step 2: Stir in 1/2 teaspoon almond oil and 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch. Bring mixture to boil, then allow to cool completely. Stir ingredients well. (You might want to add a touch more cornstarch for a thicker consistency)
Step 3: Put gel into a small clean container, with a tight fitting lid.

- Next up: Cinnamon Baking Soda Toothpaste
This one is certainly designed more for the bacteria in one's mouth. I still have a hard time getting past the taste of the baking soda, even with cinnamon mixed in. It made my mouth feel more clean than the mint gel did, but I don't think I'll be happy with my breath if I use this exclusively. (Personally, even though I do it twice a day, I hate brushing my teeth. Therefore, a really good flavor is extremely important to me)
Step 1: Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small jar.
Step 2: Add enough water to make a paste. (about 2 teaspoons)

- Clove Mouth Rinse
This one, I'm loving. As picky as I am with my mouth and breath, I never use mouthwash because they are all too strong for me, even watered down. Since I've never been into mouthwash I haven't tried that many natural ones. This stuff though, is gentle enough for my mouth, and I actually feel like it makes my mouth fresh.
Step 1: Place 2 Tablespoons of whole cloves in a heat-resistant bowl. Pour 2 cups of boiling water over them and let steep until cool.
Step 2: Strain into a clean container with a lid and place by your sink for daily use.

- Finally, the Lemon Face Toner
My judging on this one may not be good right now. I went through teenage hood with perfect skin, then adult acne hit me. I think it's hormone related, and I mainly feel this way due to the fact that with both my pregnancies, my face cleared up beautifully. So, as I am currently pregnant, my face is pretty normal. I will have to come back and comment should my acne return.
Step 1: Combine 1/4 cup lemon juice, 3 Tablespoons witch hazel, and 2 Tablespoons water into a bottle with a tight fitting lid and shake. (I recommend more water if you have sensitive skin)
Step 2: Apply with clean cotton ball and follow with light moisturizer.
