Disturbing Mom's Play Time

I sat there looking at my son playing with his toys peacefully by himself. I wondered why it was exactly that in the last 6 games of Scattergories I played with my husband and friends, my son only came over to sit, tug and mess with me. Also, why was it that he only paid attention to me while the timer was on and I was working, yet when the timer went off (signaling the end of that round) it was as if a timer was going off for him as well that said, "Time to stop bugging mom, since she is no longer busy".
