Another Mohawk!

It was time for another haircut for my son this month and we both agreed that since it was getting warmer we should give him another Mohawk, like he had last summer. We both think he looks absolutely adorable with it, so we did.

He was pretty easy going about the whole thing, which is about the same as he was last year. He cried at first, but that was only due o the fact that he wanted to play with the comb and Daddy as using it. Once he got over that, he quickly became bored with the whole thing and began investigating the various places on one's face that a finger will fit into. He found a few good ones. The top of the head went petty smooth and the back just took a little longer. My husband was so concerned with having it look perfect, he seemed to forget he was cutting the hair of a small toddler. However, I am pleased to announce we all made it out alive, no fighting, no crying, and an adorable baby Mohawk. The cutest part was when the buzzer was on the back of our son's head it tickled him and he kept giggling.

There are not many people in our life at all that agree with the way we style our own son's hair. That is something that doesn't bother my husband or myself one bit. We have received all sorts of negative looks and comments from people who just can't get past the image of what they think is wrong. It's OK with us really, we do what we want at this point. But even now and for sure later, when our son says he doesn't want or like something we listen. The biggest struggle of having a child for us certainly has to be the fact that everyone adds their two cents on what they think is right for the way we raise our children. I bite my tongue every time because I understand they do not think outside the box like we do and saying something in return would only cause unnecessary drama. I am proud of the way we raise our son and I am highly confident that as he grows up everyone will be blown away at the wonderful child and man he turns into. I feel that by raising him with love and respect for himself and all things will make him the perfect kind of person in this world. Other people will still be negative and not know how to accept something out of the ordinary. I will always choose to be in the wonderful presence of my children over anyone else in my life. For I am making them the kind of people I choose to be surrounded by.
