I sit here in the quiet of the night wondering what the hours ahead will bring. For about 34 hours now my son has had a high fever ranging from 101.4 to 102.7. I've been alternating Motrin and Tylenol, along with lukewarm baths and we have been keeping it below 103. This afternoon he was doing great and his fever went away for a few hours so I started to think we had made it through the worst of it all. Then at about 8pm it shot back up and I got him ready for bed.
So I am wondering. He got a minor cough the day before all this fever and it is still there. He has a very minor stuffy/runny nose. He is irritable and seems achy. He drools a lot and seems to not be swallowing or drinking/eating much. It sounds like the flu. But today we also thought we saw a sore in his mouth. Tomorrow morning, if he doesn't look better we are going straight to the doctor to try and figure out what is going on with him, in case there is anything serious effecting him. Until then, I will wait these hours and watch him, listen to him, and feel his body, to be sure everything stays at normal levels.
Update soon.....
