Animals, finally.

Our wait for the zoo has finally ended. We got to visit today, though, not very long. Turns out it's really hard to hang out at the hot zoo while pregnant. It wasn't even that hot, but I am automatically a few degrees hotter than everyone else. I don't even sleep with a blanket overnight. The hills and long distances are pretty harsh too. Just another reminder that I cannot do all the things I want to physically, and for me, that is one of the hardest parts about this pregnancy. I enjoy taking my son out so much, and I feel bad I cannot get down and play with him, or stay at places too long.

I'm pretty sure he still had fun though. We saw a seal, an alligator, the closed petting zoo, some caves, prairie dogs, flamingos, the nursery, and had lunch. Then we saw the orangutans, chimpanzees, giraffes, swans and ducks, and a few small creatures. A decent trip for only a couple hours. I just feel bad we didn't see many of the ones he knows like bears, elephants, tigers, lions, koalas etc. However, we went with my step-mom and my 9 year old sister and they purchased a family pass. We can now go back all year long with them for free which will be fun and nice throughout the summer when I can carry a baby on the outside and hopefully have all my strength back.

My son was upset to leave, but we saw enough animals that he wasn't too badly upset. We then went to get some yummy frozen yogurt and came home for a long rejuvenating nap. Ahh, the life of a stay at home mom right? HA! This was my off day, trust me, I work hard most days.
